About UpFront
UpFront is a service-business management platform operated by UpFront
Solutions LLC, a New York limited liability company doing business as
"UpFront". Service providers use UpFront to manage their customer
relationships, including sending transactional text messages to their
customers. This page describes how SMS messaging works across the UpFront
platform and the consent we collect before sending any text messages.

Privacy
We do not sell or share your phone number or opt-in data with third parties
for marketing purposes. Phone numbers collected through our opt-in flows
are used solely to deliver the transactional messages described above on
behalf of the service business you are a customer of.
Consent is optional
Agreeing to receive text messages is never a condition of purchase
or service. A customer can request a quote, book a job, receive
that service, and pay their invoice without ever agreeing to texts. Consent
is asked for separately, defaults to off, and can be withdrawn at any time
by replying STOP — withdrawing it does not affect the service they
receive.
How we collect consent
Consent is collected in three places across the UpFront platform:
-
Public booking form — the quote request form hosted on
each service business’s public page includes an optional
SMS consent checkbox. It is unchecked by default and the form submits
either way: the quote request or booking is handled exactly the same
whether or not the customer ticks it.
-
Client portal onboarding — after a customer signs in to
their client portal via a magic link, they confirm their contact details
and are invited to opt in to SMS. Declining does not stop
them finishing onboarding or using the portal.
-
Owner-side Add Client form — when a service business owner
adds a new customer record with a phone number, they must attest that the
customer has provided verbal or written consent to receive service-related
text messages. The form shows the owner the script to use, reproduced below,
and the attestation is stored against that customer record. The attestation
is optional — a customer record saves without it, and
that customer is simply never texted.
Verbal consent script shown to the business owner:
“Is it okay if we text you about your service? You’ll get appointment
reminders, a message when we’re on our way, and your invoice — only when
something’s happening with your job, never marketing. Message and data rates
may apply, and you can reply STOP any time to stop them.”
Example of the consent checkbox used in the booking form:
I agree to receive text messages from
[Service Business] including appointment reminders,
job updates, and service notifications. Message & data rates may
apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
